Fontevrault (more fully, Fontevrault-L'Abbaye) is an historic town in the Loire Valley region of France.

  • Fontevraud Abbey, Abbaye Royale de Fontevraud, [1]. The burial place of several Plantagenet rulers of England and various French duchies, including Henry II, Richard I the Lionheart and Eleanor of Aquitaine. Their painted effigies are displayed in the nave of the abbey.
