Miami International Airport in Miami.
To get to Florida City by public transit from the airport, take the MetroRail to Dadeland South, and then take the #34 or #38 to the last stop.
US Route 1 (South Dixie Highway), the Florida Turnpike (Route 821) and Route 997 all run right through Florida City.
Many national chain restaurants are available for quick burgers, pizza and so forth, also:
Biscayne National Park is right nearby.
Travelers are advised to avoid traveling at night. It is also inadvisable to make unnecessary stops at gas stations or restaurants at any time of the day. Restaurant and gas station car parks are high-risk danger areas, with many travelers becoming victim to carjackings, break-and-enters and muggings. Gangs operate in local neighborhoods, notably restaurant car parks on the motorway and local streets, and constantly perpetrate these crimes, particularly when they suspect tourists are in the vicinity. Witnesses are highly unlikely to come forward due to the threat of retribution from gangs.
The police force in Florida City is renowned to be among the most nonchalant and laziest in the entire country, which even further undermines public confidence in the safety of the town.
