The Welsh Language is spoken by some in Flintshire, however it's close proximity to the Welsh/English border means that it is not spoken by as many as other counties. There are, however, some inland villages where it is spoken by a large minority. The language was previously almost unheard in the coastal towns in Flintshire, but all of the roadsigns are bi-lingual, and there are a number of Welsh Medium Schools. The language is thriving.
