Fertőszentmiklós, often referred to as Fertőd is a city in Győr-Moson-Sopron county in Transdanubia in Hungary.

It is a town of merely 4000 on the border to Austria. Still, it is the location of one of Hungary's best known palaces, Eszterháza, which was built in the 1760s by Prince Nikolaus Esterhazy.
