Faya is in Saharan Chad.

Faya is a the largest city in northern Chad, the capital of Bourkou-Ennedi-Tibesti prefecture. Faya has a population of 14,123 (2008). During the colonial era, the town was renamed Largeau, while after independence, it was initially known as Faya-Largeau. Due to the considerable underground water supply in the town, agriculture is the main industry. Three lakes lie immediately north of Faya.
