Travel Warning WARNING: Fallujah remains extremely dangerous and is emphatically NOT safe.

In November 2014, the city remains under the control of the Islamic State (IS), also called DAESH, a fanatical organization.

Fallujah (Arabic: الفلّوجة, Aramaic: Pumbeidtha) is a city in Iraq's Baghdad Belts. Fallujah dates from Babylonian times and was host to important Jewish academies for many centuries.

The city grew from a small town in 1947 to a population of 326,471 in 2010. Within Iraq, it is known as the "city of mosques" for the more than 200 mosques found in the city and the surrounding villages.
