From Redding or Eureka, go on CA-299 E until you get to Fall River Mills, which is about 69 mi. from Redding and 218 mi. from Eureka.

This lake is home to excellent boating and fishing (covered later). Pit #1 Diversion 97-099 Dam is also located here.

This place is heaven for boaters and fishermen.

Trout from the Pit River is what most people come here for, and for good reason: there are plenty of them. Fly fishing is usually best here. Be sure to check with both the fishing reports and the locals. If you are simply boating, this lake is good for it. It is very pleasant here as opposed to other nearby, more crowded areas.

There are no major shopping centers in Fall River Mills. If you are fishing, it might be a good thing to buy some fishing equipment if you're low on it.
