Blanchard Caverns are close enough to drive to and they are well worth the trip. An elevator takes you over 200 feet into the caverns and it is truly beautiful.

Horseback riding on a guided trail is a good time for the family.
Rafting on the White River can be done; it is fairly cheap and a good time for all involved.
