Estremadura

Estremadura is a traditional province in western Portugal. Estrmadura does not have administrative status. Currently, the northen section is considered part of the central region. The southern section is now part of the Lisbon region. Talk portuguese[english;french @ some resorts & main cities. Get in Lisbon/Loures Portela airport (LIS) Get around Trains,rent a car,buses,ferry boats to/from Lisbon-Cacilhas(Almada). See Lisboa,Sintra,Cascais,Mafra,Almada,Setubal, Itineraries Obidos,Alcobaca,Peniche Do visit monuments,museums,enjoy the beaches. Eat restaurants abund,as well snack bars/cafes Drink several niteclubs,bars Stay safe Generally safe,some parts of Lisbon(Cais do Sodre,Bairro Alto,train stations) especially @ nite;some dicotheques should be avoided;have mediocre security or none.Do not go to the parks @ nite;take a taxi if needed. Some hotels,pousadas,inns,pensoes are nice. Get out Tejo valley:Abrantes,Almourol,Tomar(recomemded;Tomar is a beautiful small,but monumental city),Santarem;Troia peninsula,across from Setubal.There is not much to see/do in Setubal city except taking the ferry to Tria(be careful in some Lisbon suburbs & Setubal city).
