Eluru is the capital of West Godavari District in Andhra Pradesh.

Because of its district headquarter status, it is easy to get to Eluru. National Highway no.5 (NH5) passes through Eluru. So you could get to Eluru by Bus from any of the major cities like Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Vishakhapatnam very easily. Most of the trains that pass through Eluru stops in the Eluru-railway station. Trains could be taken from all major cities in the state to get to Eluru. Eluru shares an airport with Vijayawada and it is around 40 kilometers from the city. There are flights that service to Hyderabad and Vishakhapatnam. If you are on a budget and if you want to get to Eluru, an air-conditioned train would be the best choice.
