Ellijay is a city in Northwest Georgia. It is considered the Apple Capital of Georgia.

Ellijay has a quaint downtown area with various speciality and antique shops and restaurants but the shopping centers and all the chain restaurants are on the highway.

  • Subdivisions are popping up all over especially on the east side but 282 has a good many
  • People from Urban areas are developing this "small" town
  • Ellijay is a vacation escape location with numerous vacation cabin rentals and second homes.
  • Coosawattee River Resort- The Coosawattee River Resort is a 8,500 + acre development consisting of more than 7,000 individual, privately owned lots.[3]
  • Blackberry Mountain is a development on the banks of the Cartecay River with Blackberry Falls.[4]
  • Walnut Mountain featuring second homes and vacation cabins is located deep in the Rich Mountains along the banks of Turniptown Creek. [5]
