Edmonton Capital Region refers to the metropolitan area of Edmonton, Alberta. The population of this area is 1.1 million. It is the sixth largest metro area in the nation of Canada. Edmonton is the true city where the others are municipalities that are suburbs and small cities and they usually rely on Edmonton for jobs, healthcare, or stuff to do.

• Edmonton, population: 752,000 (the actual city of the region, as in the rest are suburbs or small places, so it gets to hold the 1.1 mill population namesake). Home to world class shopping (even outside of the big mall), a growing theatre scene, excellent nightlife, beautiful parks, high end & extraordinary festivals, and a beautiful array of food selection.

• Sherwood Park, population: 83,000. Has the popular Milenium Place and has some nice golf courses. It is home to Refinery Row and is, other than that, just a typical suburb.

• Saint Albert, population: 53,000. Nothing too interesting. It is a clean city with lots of trees and is home to a nice mall and farmers market. It also has a low key arts centre.

• Morinville, population: 15,000

• Spruce Grove, population: 12,000

• Devon, population: 10,000

• Stony Plain, population: 12,000

• Leduc, population: 19,000

• Nisku, population: 5000

• Fort Saskatchewan, population: 7000

• Bon Accord, population: 5000

Along with the above, there are numerous small towns.
