Edmonton Capital Region refers to the metropolitan area of Edmonton, Alberta. The population of this area is 1.1 million. It is the sixth largest metro area in the nation of Canada. Edmonton is the true city where the others are municipalities that are suburbs and small cities and they usually rely on Edmonton for jobs, healthcare, or stuff to do.

  • Edmonton, population: 782,439, per the City of Edmonton 2009 Municipal Census. (This is the size of the city proper. Combined with the neighboring municipalities, the Greater Edmonton Region counts 1.03 million residents.) Home to world class shopping (even outside of the famous West Edmonton Mall), an established theatre scene, excellent nightlife, beautiful parks, high end & extraordinary festivals, and a beautiful array of food selection.
  • Sherwood Park, population: 83,000. The popular Millennium Place and Festival Place are located here.
  • Saint Albert, population: 53,000. It is a clean city with scenic trails and parks. It is home to the Musée Héritage Museum and the Arden Theatre.
  • Devon, population: 10,000
  • Leduc, population: 19,000

Along with the above, there are numerous other small towns.
