- Elektrostal — a metallurgical and heavy machinery industrial production center
- Kolomna — a city nearly 900 years old, with its own kremlin and the oldest church in Moscow Oblast, the Church of St John the Baptist (14th century)
- Lyubertsy — a fairly large city, which attracts Muscovites looking to relax on the sandy beaches of its two lakes
- Monino — a town famous for its Central Air Force Museum, one of the world's largest aviation museums
- Orekhovo-Zuyevo — an industrial city to the east of Moscow on the Klyazma River
- Pavlovsky Posad — a former merchant town, home to the Pokrovsko-Vasilevsky Monastery and several churches
- Vereya — inside this small historic village's kremlin is a 16th century Cathedral of the Nativity, erected in honor of the Russian conquest of Kazan
- Zhukovsky — this city is home to one of Russia's premiere flight research institutes
- Zheleznodorozhny — as its name would suggest, a railway city
