Eaglesfield

Eaglesfield is a small village near Cockermouth, Cumbria and is close to the lake district national park.

There is a bus which runs most days from the local town of Cockermouth, to Cleator Moor, although you will need to be sure to check the bus times, as they are very infrequent.

The Birthplace of John Dalton, is in the village and is marked by a small plaque. The Village is also one of a number of villages which may be the birthplace of Fletcher Christian, who led the famous mutiny on the Bounty.

There is a small pub, "The Black Cock" in the village, and although it does not serve food, it serves a number of local Jennings Ales. Light snacks, for example crisps. However this pub is not always open, as the landlady is very old.
