Jump to: navigation, search

Duval County is located in the South Texas Plains, roughly an hour west of Corpus Christi and an hour east of Laredo. The terrain is similar to that of the rest of South Texas, primarily arid brushlands and scattered trees.

[edit] Cities

There are three primary towns in Duval County, each one occupying a different area of the county.

  • San Diego. The county seat of Duval County.
  • Benavides. A small town about 20 miles southwest of San Diego.
  • Freer. A halfway point for those between George West and Laredo. Considered one of the last true frontier towns in Texas.
