Dornie is a village in the Highlands of Scotland, most famous for Eilean Donan Castle on Loch Duich

Long distance coaches from Glasgow, Fort William and Inverness to The Isle of Skye will stop in Dornie, although you should tell the driver / wave at him to stop.
During the summer, frequent buses run to and from Kyle of Lochalsh

Several trains a day run on the scenic railway from Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh, from where you can catch a bus or coach (see above).

The village of Dornie is situated about 200m off the main road, and many visitors only go to the Castle on the other side of the road. It's only 5 minutes walk between the two.

- Eilean Donan Castle - a real picture postcard castle, it sits on its own small island about 50m into Loch Duich, reached by crossing a stone bridge / causeway. Remodelled several times into an 'ideal' castle, it is well worth a visit, with some interesting rooms and exhibits.
