Daylesford, an hour northwest of Melbourne, has many spas, good food and wine, a lush environment, artists, and holistic therapists.


Daylesford is a spa town located at the bottom of the Great Dividing Range. It is a part of the greater area that is defined as the Shire of Hepburn in the state of Victoria in Australia. The area lies approximately 115 kilometres north and to the west of Melbourne which is the capital city of Victoria. It was first established in the 17th century as a gold mining town but has since become a spa country with a huge amount of holistic and relaxing accommodation for excellent get aways. Generally visitors that are interested in travelling to Daylesford and the Macedon ranges are travelling from Melbourne. If this is the case, then the Hume, Calder and Western highways as well as the Tullamarine Freeway all lead directly there. V/line also have a wide range of train lines that service the area. Local bus companies travel between all the major towns and stop at all the region's train stations so getting to and from Daylesford and the surrounding area as well as navigating around is quite easy.
