Dapto is located 20 minutes south of Wollongong in the coatal region of Illawarra of New South Wales, Australia, immediately to the south of Sydney. It has much history starting from 1945 when it was changed from Tarrawarra to Dapto.

To get to Dapto, catch a Cityrail train form Sydney and all services stop at Dapto. You can also catch a Plane to the Rgional Albion Park Airport and catch a bus to Dapto. Dapto is a rapidly growing southern suburb of Wollongong.

You can get around Dapto by Walking because everything in the CBD is very close and convienient.

There will be a very big mall for shopping which will be completed in 2007 Sep-Oct. There is an annual Street fair in the Dapto Showgrounds every fathers' day. Following that is the Dapto Show. Also there are sometimes Special Shows like Monster Trucks etc. During the year. Most things happening are in Wollongng. Sunday mornings there are the 'flea markets' where one can find great bargains.
