Dan Chang is in Suphan Buri province.
It is set in a rural area which is predominantly sugar cane growing land. A large sugar factory is based approximately 10 km to the east of the town.
There is an agricultural college to the south of town.
Dan Chang is situated on route 333 between U Thong (to the south) and Ban Rai (to the north).
Busses from several locations arrive at the central bus station.
There is not really any local transportation system and even taxis (motorbikes and cars) are not readily available.
It is best to have your own transportation, be it a bicycle, moped or car. There are plenty of shops around town where you can buy a bicycle or motorbike - short term hiring is not a standard offering.
Krasieo Reservoir and Dam
This is the longest earthen dam in Thailand (4.25 km) with a reservoir of approximately 45 square kilometres. There are many floating fish farms on the reservoir that add to the character of the area.
Visit the local market in the centre of town, open daily.
The market is reasonably large with many varying stalls ranging from live fish, fresh fruit and vegetables to clothing and housewares.
On Monday evenings there is a temporary market in a field on the outskirts of the north of town. The stalls vary from week to week but you can often find clothing, electrical goods, dvds as well as an extensive range of fresh and cooked foods.
The Market There are numerous food vendors and side street restaurants near the market. Food is cooked on request so don't expect a menu.
Pizza House Run by a talented Swedish chef and his family, this restaurant brings Italian cuisine to Dan Chang and the pizzas are better than any you will get in Bangkok.
You can go for a drink in most of the restaurants listed above.
There is a night club called "Give me Five" a few hundred metres from the main crossroads - there are often live tribute rock bands playing.
Various busses leave from the main bus station.
