Holmen and Refshaleøen is in Copenhagen.

From the early 1500's Holmen has been the locations the navy material command. During more than 400 years Holmen was extended with new artificial islands, docks were added, housed and factories created. In 1992 the navy was moved to Frederikshavn and Korsør, only some administration remained at Holmen.

In 1995 Holmen were joined with civilian Copenhagen. The School of architecture, school of theater, and school of film, and school of music moved into old building on Holmen. The new Opera House was built on Holmen in 2005.

Holmen is a peninsula so by land you go north on Prinsessegade from Christianhavn Squara (Metro Christianshavn). Bus 66 go that way to the Opera.

The water busses (Bus 901 and 902) have to stops on Holmen (Holmen nord and Opera). The water busses only sail in the summer. You can sail in your own boat to Lynetten Marina.

The Canal-Tour Waterbus have several stops on holmen [1].

Renseanlæg Lynetten is a big sewage purification plant. It is a bit smelly, but only if you get very close.

• Halvandet [3] Refshalevej 325, +45 70270296. Restaurant, bar, and beachbar. Halvandet has two big warehouses. Outside a big area is filled with sand to create, a beach-bar, a beach-wolley fiels, and a beach-football (soccer) field. Brunch DKK 95, main course DKK 95. Open from 11Am until it becomes to cold at night. A warm summer evening, sitting with a cold beer in a beach chair at the edge of the quay, this is probably the most relaxing place in Copenhagen to have a drink.
