Østerbro is a district of Copenhagen.

There are three S-stations on Østerbro: Østerport, Nordhavn, and Svanemøllen

Bus no. 1A runs frequently from Kgs. Nytorv through Østerbro on Østerbrogade

The square Trianglen connect five major streets on Østerbro and host bus stops for several lines. Trianglen can be recognised by its unusual building called the soup terrine by the locals.

• Parken [3] is the national football (soccer) arena and home for FC Copenhagen. Also hosts big concerts. Parken has a gym, bars, bowling, and pool.

• Fælledparken is the park behind the football stadium. There is a lake, a pavilion with a cafe, and big trees. But most of it is covered with grass, much of it marked as football fields. Go there for a game of football or another game, a picnic, or just lie in the grass.

• Fiskerihavnen. Located on the eastern tip of Nordhavn (North harbour). Because of the traffic on Øresund, commercial fishing is not allowed. But the sparetime fishermen at Fiskerihavnen can fish from their small fishingboats. The fishermen have tiny sheds, all different, a bit messy, but colorful. To get there you have to zig-zag past Frihavnen (free harbour, closed to the public), mountains of containers, scrap metal, interesting industries. Bus 26 goes there. There is a store that sell fishing equipment, but also ice cream and cold beers. "Krølle" sells smoked herring and salmon from his 1914 boat, "Kællingen".

• Østerbro Skøjtehal Per Henrik Lings Alle 6, indoor skating ring open from middle of october to the end of march. DKK 20 entrance.
• Øbro-hallen Gunnar Nu Hansens Plads 3, tel: +45+ 35257060. [5] Pool, spa, aroma-bath, steam bath, and baby pool in beautiful 1929 building with glass roof. DKK 28 for just the pool, DKK 60 for all facilities.

• Østre Gasværk Teater, Nyborggade 17, tel +45 39277177 [6]. Theater in old gas storage container.

There are many small stores on Østerbrogade and Ndr. Frihavnsgade.

• Superbest (former ISO) on Østerfælled Square is a supermarket with a good delicatessen and a bakery.

On Nordre Frihavnsgade at the east end (farther away from Trianglen) there is a branch of Netto, the cheapest supermarket chain, and of Super Brugsen, more expensive but other products.

• Den Sorte gryde (The Black Pot) [8], Ndr. Frihavnsgade 23 (just east of Trianglen), tel: +45 35260110. Open mo-fr: 3-11 pm, sa-su: 2-11 pm. Mostly take-away. It is best know for its DKK 39, 300 gram Buggi-Burger, but also have good solid danish food, e.g., pork rost, "Brændende Kærlighed" (Butter-fried bacon and onion on top of mashed potatoes). The portions are big, usually one is plenty for two people.

• Cafe Bopa [10] on Bopa Plads, 35430566, main course DKK 60-120. In the summer you can sit outside or in the small sheltered courtyard.

• Guldanden [12] Sortedam Dossering 103, Tel: +45 35426606, email: bordbestilling@guldanden.dk. Mains DKK 150, 3 course dinner DKK 298. Also has brunch, lunch. Open 10am-12pm (10pm Su). Beautiful location on the corner of Sortedam lake.

There are three reasonable prices restaurants at the sailing clubs in Svanemøllen Harbour. Eg:

• Sundet [13] Strandvænget 45, 39293035, May-Sep:M-Fr 4PM-10PM (Kitchen 5-9PM), Oct-Apr open M and W. Main course from 55 DKK.
• Restauranten, Sejlklubben Frem [14], Strandvænget 65 (at the red gate). tel: +45 39293385. Inexpensive restaurant with a more private atmosphere. Barbecue in the summer. Daily dish is DKK 59.
• Charlottehaven Cafe Hjørringgade 12C very close to Nordhavn station, tel: +45 35271516.[15] Cafe/restaurant in one of the rare big rooms on Østerbro. The daily specials (Mo-Fr) at DKK 95 is a good deal.

• Le Saint Jacques [17], Sankt Jakobs Plads 1, tel: +45 35427707. Email: lsj@danielletz.com. Very french kitchen. White walls, candlelights, and russian icons. Mains DKK 180. Open Su-We: 11am-12pm, Th-Sa: 11am-2am.
• Little Venice [18], Sundkrogskaj 17, 39203022, Italian inspired. Located in the North Harbour. You can walk there from Nordhavn Station. Has free wireless network.

• Cafe Bopa [21], Bopa Plads. Gets crowded at night.

• Østerport Hotel [25] Oslo Plads 5, tel: 70124646 is located at Østerport S-station right at the tracks (it is soundproofed). A good place for travelling around. The three major S-train lines pass Østerport, there is direct trains to the airport, north to Elsinore, and east to Odense.

• Bed and Breakfast [26] There is a handful of B&B on Østerbro.

• Charlottehaven serviced apartments, Hjørringgade 12C, Tel: +45 35271500 [27]. Minimun 7 days stay. Starts at DKK985 for the smallests apartment. Modern apartments close to Nordhavn S-station. The apartment have internet, TV, etc. Charlottehaven has a Cafe, Pool, squash court, gym.
