Coolidge is the closest town to Casa Grande Ruins National Monument, an impressive multi-story adobe building and fortress constructed by pre-Columbian Hohokam Indians. Ironically, the town of Casa Grande is farther away from the national monument and is not on any convenient route to the monument.
