Get in[edit]

Tours leave from Lima on weekends only, but the trip is around 3 hours each way and makes for a long day. These buses usually come in from the highway turning off at Vegeta. To get in yourself, take a bus towards Barranca (companies include Turismo Barranca, Turismo Paramongo) for roughly 15 soles. If you need to spend a night, Barranca is probably the easiest place to do so. If not, ask to get out at Supe, some 12km before Barranca. From there you will need to catch a combi to Caral (22km, road much better than it used to be) for about 5 soles. Be sure to mention Ciudad Sagrada or el puente (the bridge) or they will drop you off at the modern village. You should be let off at the bridge and from there it is a 10-15 min walk to the actual site itself. You may want to get your own personal combi and pay him to wait for you there, or leaving could be difficult (see Get Out)

Get out[edit]

If you have not paid for a combi to wait for you, head back to the bridge where you were droppped off and walk back the way you came, hoping for a combi to pass by. You may be in for a long wait/walk if unlucky.
