Capanema is an agricultural town in Pará. Nothing much for tourists here, but you might get stuck on your way to or from Salinópolis.

Situated on the main highway Belém - Fortaleza, there are quite a few buses passing by in either direction. The main bus station is about 2 km from the center, while a smaller one, Terminalzinho, is right on the edge of the commercial district. Last bus to Salinópolis around 4 PM.
