Buru is one of the South Maluku (Moluccas) islands, a remote location largely untouched by western influence. Buru island is a perfectly safe place to visit.

Former camp where political prisoners were detained after the failed communist coup in 1960's. The area is located near the peaceful Savanajaya village.
