Buea is a city in Coastal Cameroon.

Understand[edit]

Buea is the capital of the Southwest Region of Cameroon. It was the seat of German Cameroon in the beginning of the 20th century and still has some colonial buildings of interest. The city is at the foot of Cameroon Mountain (Mongo ma Ndemi)

Get in[edit]

Major cities, such as Douala, Yaounde, and Bamenda, have buses that go directly to Mile 17 from major bus terminals, the main bus depot in Buea. The price of these buses vary from 1,500CFA from Douala to 4,000CFA from Yaounde or Bamenda. From Douala and Limbe (800CFA) you can enter a shared taxi (locally known as a cando). These taxis put 4 passengers in the back seat and 2 in the front seat. Once you reach Mile 17, you can easily take a shared taxi into town.
