Bourke's Luck Potholes

The Bourke's Luck Potholes are a famous tourist site in the Mpumalanga Province of South Africa. The Rock Formation was named after a miner called Tom Bourke, who found a bit gold here, but never got rich as the gold seam was located a short distance to the south of his claim.

Follow the R532 from Sabie for about 65km, the potholes will be on your right and clearly marked with a roadside sign.

There are paved walkways and metal bridges suspended over the potholes.

The potholes and rock formations carved from the rock by water action at the confluence of the Blyde and Treue rivers. You may also see some local birds.
