[edit] Skiing

The ski area in Borovets is split in two, a smaller area with runs down into the main resort is serviced by 2 chairlifts and a number of drag tows and consists of nursery slopes; a couple of short black runs; 1 long blue run and a number of short reds. The second ski area is accessible via a Gondala and is much larger with a number of long blue and red runs and some blacks.

The smaller area is much lower and so ski conditions towards the end of the season may not be very good, although skiing into to April is possible on the higher runs.

[edit][add listing] Sleep

  • Rila A large hotel located right on the lower slopes; rooms are comfortable and clean. The hotel has a swimming pool and a large lobby bar. The food provided in the restaurant (Towards the season anyway) is not to be recommended, although this isn't a huge problem as there are a number of reasonably priced places to eat in the town.

[edit][add listing] Eat

Most restaurants on the pistes are relatively expensive and average quality.

  • The Blue Steak House/restaurant in the centre of the town, great steak and other dishes.
  • Golden Chicken A pub/pizza restaurant located near the Gondola station; food was below average and our table was situated near the toilet which had an overwhelming odour.
