Bolshevik Island (Russian: о́стров Большеви́к OH-struhf buhl'-sheh-VEEK) is an island in the very Northern part of Russia located in Taymyria. It is a common starting point for trips to the North Pole. Dangers include: Polar bears, extreme cold, and lack of food.
