The preferred language is Marathi or Hindi. Hindi is the national language of India and Marathi is derived from the ancient Sanskrit language. Bhandara is also famous for its "Jhadi Boli" which is a one of the flavors of Marathi language. This is a countryside and a bit slang way of speaking Marathi.

Rice is a primary food in Bhandara. Try out "Bhaat" which is boiled Rice and salt which is consumed with Daal, Spicy Curry and Ghee. During festive seasons Puran Poli is prepared which is sweet in taste. This is one of the most important dish and is prepared on all the major festivals. The hotels have ready to eat Samosas and Pakoras as snacks.

Tea is the common drink offered to welcome the guests. Also the Nimbu Pani (Lemon, sugar, salt mixed in Water) is a drink preferred in Summer.

Bhandara has a famous temple of "Korambhi Devi" i.e. the Goddess of River along the bank of Vainganga River. The water of the river looks calm and tempting for a dive. But there are whirlpools which are very dangerous and many visitors have lost their life in the river.
