The 2008 Summer Olympic Games [1] and the 2008 Paralympics [2] will be held in Beijing, the first time the games are being held in China. The Olympic Games will take place between August 8-24, 2008, and the Paralympic Games will take place between September 5-16, 2008.

Beijing is the biggest transport hub in Northern China with suitable transportation links extending in all directions. The modern international airport and road and rail network ensures ease of access whilst on your enjoyable Beijing tour.

Beijing, the railway hub of the nation, with the trains to most provincial capitals and all the neighboring cities. There are six stations in Beijing, the Beijing Railway Station, the Beijing West Railway Station are the most important. The former is mainly for long-haul trips, such Baotou Beijing to Shanghai and Beijing or the international trains directly to Moscow, Ulan Bator and Pyongyang, etc. While the latter is the largest railway station in Asia. Tourists can attend the capitals of each province, the majority of large and medium-sized cities, autonomous regions (with the exception of Tibet, Hainan and Taiwan, which Beijing - Tibet Railway will be available in July 2007) in China. The other two stations offer short-haul trains to the neighbouring provinces.

Beijing is without doubt the largest intersection of the main roads in China, with bright twelve national highways in the north-east, south-east, south-west and south, and eight major highways around the city, a total of twenty thousand kilometers.

Nineteen bus stations in Beijing are thousands of buses daily, to the neighboring cities such as Datong, Chengde, Tianjin, some departure every hour. China Travel Guide indicates that long-distance travellers should not apply to buses, but short bus trips can be unforgettable.
