Ban Tai is one of the longest stretches of coastline on Koh Phangan. The sandy beach stretches from the bay next to Thongsala all the way past Ban Kai beach and onto the Haad Rin peninsula. The shoreline runs parallel with Koh Samui offering fantastic views of the island in the near distance.

In the high season the coastal strip offers spectacular sunsets which are particularly awesome at full moon. At low tide almost the entire coastline can be walked.

From Thongsala and the ferry terminal the taxi ride is just five minutes.

Walking, renting motorbikes or sharing taxis to Thongsala - the main port. Twenty minutes to Haad Rin and the full moon party.

Shopping is available at Thongsala some five minutes away by Taxi. Locally there are shops, mini malls and restaurants.

Thai and European food. There are many restaurants just behind the beach on the main Haad Rin -Thongsala road.

Funky beach resort with 180m private secluded sunset bay, the bay actually has its own thai name in Ao Hin Lor which means bay of beautiful rocks which is just about right. very competitively priced to keep occupancy up. excellent food with an enormous range of shakes. free internet and wifi,free kayaking also. the best months are from dec to April and sept/oct. the other months the sea has receded so poor for swimming. November is monsoon time. resort offers amazing dvd library and satelite tv for news and sports in the restaurant area which is built into huge rocks and has a huge grass roof. Imported teas for the english and irish.The manager is from london has an excellent attitude to his guests well being which is a great plus for Phangan as things there get a bit hairraising at times. Harmony beach really has a great peronality but does however, have a no trance policy which is unusual considering most of the parties are on the trance side. Worth checking out as other resorts that are quite souless are much more expensive. 400 baht up to 1200 baht.  edit
