The Airport Karlsruhe-Baden (Baden Airpark) is a regional airport in Rheinmünster (Germany). The catchment area is along the Rhine River from north of Karlsruhe to Freiburg im Breisgau in the south. The airport is often used as a cheap alternative to the Strasbourg airport from French people. The IATA-Code is FKB.

The next railway station is in Baden-Baden (aprox. 11 km). There you have connection to highspeed trains ICE and TGV.
The airport is in the fare area of the Karlsruher Verkehrsverbund (KVV). Line 234 connects the airport with the city of Rastatt and Schwarzach, line 205 with Baden-Baden. Line 140 (Baden-Airpark-Express/Hahn-Express)connects it with Baden-Baden, Heidelberg und Mannheim (where you have connection to the airport Frankfurt-Hahn). Line 921 (Flightliner Eberhardt-Reisen) links the airport with Strasbourg, Kehl, Rust (Europa Park and Freiburg im Breisgau. In the lines 140 and 921, the tickets of the KVV are not valid.
A connection to the commuter system of Karlsruhe is under discussion.
Take the motorway A5 and leave it on exit No. 51 Baden-Baden in direction of Iffezheim/France. Then follow the airport signs.
Take the motorway A35 and leave it on exit No. 56 Roppenheim in direction of Germany. Pass the french-german border and on the first traffic light turn right. Then follow the airport signs.
Parking is on the whole airport with costs and is maintained by APCOA. Prices are between 0.50€ and 1€ per hour (the short time parking in front of the terminal costs 1€ the first hour, then 1.50€ per every following 30 minutes), day rate is between 9 and 14€ (short time parking 41€). Parking slots can be reserved in advance for a fee, but a reservation is not necessary outside the main travelling period. Attention! APCOA is allowed to distribute parking violation tickets if you don't follow their rules!
Several car rental companies are located inside the terminal building.
Gastronomy & Accomodation
In the terminal there is a small Café-Bar and a bistrot. On the site there is a restaurant (open only for noon). In the hotel that is located next to the terminal you can take a breakfast also if you did not sleep there (advance anouncement is not necessary, but would be better to do, further information here). In this hotel you can sleep for a good price. The reception desk is open till 10 pm, but a check-in machine allows you to check-in around the clock. You don't have to pay a city tax there (that means prices are including all taxes). Other hotels and restaurants are located in the near village of Hügelsheim.

In the terminal are to cash machines. There is no foreign exchange office! Lots of travel agencies, shops for the travel necesseties and an internet acces point (with costs) are available in the terminal.
Next to the terminal building is a visitor terrace. It is free of charge and you don't need a flight ticket for it.
The terminal is closed at night. You have to book a room in the airport hotel in order to not sleep "open air".
On the site is a dog pension.
