Aveyron is in the South West of France.
You can reach the area by plane:
- through Rodez airport in the center of the region
- through Toulouse airport, approximately 2 hours drive away
- through Montpellier airport, approximately 1 hour drive way.
By car you can choose to arrive:
- from north (about 3 hours from Clermont-Ferrand) via highway A75
- from south (about 1 hour from Montpellier) via highway A75
- from southwest via A68 and N88 (about 2 hours from Toulouse)

Public transports in Aveyron are not developed. You need to have your own car (or to rent one) to drive to the small villages in the region.

Food is reasonably priced, local and unsophisticated, although you will find more sophisticated restaurants for special occasions dotted throughout the region. There is usually no problem getting a table at a local restaurant as levels of tourism are low in this rural region.
