The neighborhood offers many restaurants which haven't yet been overrun with tourists.
- Anatolitiki Kebap, corner of Formionos and Ymmitou, Pangrati. Neighborhood taverna offering kebaps (traditional and Armenian style), chicken gyros (gyro koutopoulo), other wonderful foods from Oriental Greek cooking. The Giaourtlou Kebap is a unique dish originating in Turkey, it is a must try at this restaurant. The owner goes weekly to buy the freshest Dodoni feta from Preveza. The horiatiki salads are worth the visit! very reasonable. edit
- Another good choice here is Karavitis at 33 Arktínou, near Pafsaníou tel 210 75 15 155, a severely traditional taverna where the speciality is stamnaki, or beef, potatoes and cheese cooked in tomato sauce in an individual clay pot. The fried zucchini here are also always good. Mostly patronized by Greeks, but there is an English-language menu.
