Askim is a municipality in the county of Østfold, Norway. Askim centre has 12570 inhabitants (2006). It lies next to the longest river in Norway, Glomma, and has always been a strategic point in wars due to its bridges across the river. It is situated about 50 kilometres southeast of Oslo.
