Ascot [1] is a village in the English county of Berkshire, most famous as the location of Ascot Racecourse, home of the prestigious Royal Ascot race meeting.

Ascot is split into two sections, Ascot and South Ascot, by the train line and station. The race course is in Ascot and is situated only 2 minutes uphill from the train station.

Ascot has a station on the electric railway line from London's Waterloo station to Reading, operated by South West Trains.

A bus does run from London to Bracknell every hour but doesn't go directly through Ascot, it does stop at Heatherwood hospital where it is then only a 10 minute walk to the main high street. The bus also goes through Legoland(when open) and Windsor.

Golf There are many golf clubs in and around ascot.

If you want to buy clothes in Ascot then there are some shops but they are not cheap. Also if you just a bit peckish then there is a newsagent along the High Street, also there is a small superstore further down which is next to the petrol station.

The are some good places to eat around ascot. If you want a good curry then the best place to go would be Mango which is in North ascot on Fernbank road. If your coming up from London road, it is on your left. It can get very full even even midweek so it would be good to book in advance to get a table. If you don't want to eat at there then you can always takeaway the food.

You will be hard done by trying to find cheap accommodation in Ascot.
