Arbutus, Baltimore County, Maryland is a town known for its blue-collar atmosphere. It's a quaint town just outside the city limits of Baltimore established in 1956. Former Maryland Governor Robert Ehrlich was born in Arbutus.
Arbutus is the location of University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC).
From the Baltimore Beltway, UMBC and other nearby points can be reached from exit 12 of the Baltimore Beltway (I-695) (Wilkens Avenue). From the outer loop of the beltway, the ramp to I-95 south has an exit to Sulpher Spring Road.
From I-95, exit 47 provides access to UMBC and other nearby point.
MTA bus routes 35 and 77 regularly access the Arbutus area, including the UMBC campus.
Take I-695 North towards Towson, or Sulphur Spring Rd south towards Landsdowne
