Al hoceima

City name is in Region name. Al Hoceima (Berber: Biya or El-Ḥusima, Arabic: الحسيمة) is a city and in the north of Morocco on a northern edge of the Rif Mountains, on the Mediterranean coast. Al Hoceima and its surrounding regions have a population of 395,644 (2004 census). Al Hoceima city is the capital of the Taza-Al Hoceima-Taounate region. It is situated in the territory of the Ayt Weryaghel and Ibeqquyen tribes of the Rif, who speak Tarifit Berber, locally called Tamazight.

Road to Al hoceima is hard to drive but it is worth because the city is just wonderful and amazing to go to. There's actually a highway from Casablanca to Rabat, from Rabat to Fez, and from Fez to Taza. You have to continue from Taza to Al hoceima on a normal road ( nationnal road). However it is a part of pleasure because of the road's magnificent landscapes.

taxies are not expensive, fixed price depending on where you go, ranging from 6 Dhs(in downtown) to 10 Dhs. Extra 50% surcharge at night. It's not a big town. You can go about on foot to most places, though you might need a ride to the beaches far out of the town.

beautiful beaches there are boat rides from the beach'calabonita' to the other unaccessible-by-land beaches (about 20 Dhs)

Sandwiches are cheap (aroun 10 Dhs) and tasty.

Cafe marino is truley romantic place where you can spend an afternoon or an evening, overlooking the port beach. A cup of coffee is 9 Dhs.

Al hoceima in a Moroccan city, Morocco is a muslim country so you may not find alcoholic drink in the city. However you can drink juices, water and local drinks. You can get Spanish products as well from Supermarkets in the city.

Many hotels in town. you can find cheap ones in the spanish colonial area next to the market

there's a airport which has flights over to european cities. You can go to other moroccan cities by bus or 'big taxies'
